This is the beginning of  the next cycle; it is a time to we start to illuminate our inner reflection and process what the next phase is for the upcoming year.  Take note of how you are feeling at this time; what do you need to feel into and what is true for you.  Now is the time for you to unclear that murky emotional realm and begin to see the light.

Native Americans use the Medicine Wheel as a tool to gauge the seasonal flow of life.  Medicine Wheel teachings are based on a circular pattern and cyclical set of four: the four Seasons, the four stages of Life, the four Bio-psychosocial and spiritual aspect of a person.  It is like a mirror looking that reflects inside of each individual.

Winter Solstice

Winter Solstice is the return of the light (sun). It is the time of year we emerge from the darkness (Since Samhain Oct 31 until now about 6 weeks). with hope of better clarity and balance on how to proceed to our next “planting of life cycle”.

For many the return of the light offer many possibilities and a time to renew and give birth to our ideas and thoughts. We utilize the time to acknowledge our “dreams”, what we are feeling in our “inner rhythm” and that becomes the seeds we will begin to plant at “Imbolc” (Ground Hog Day) and Spring. Dream time happens in December.

The return of the light helps us to also illuminate areas of our life that we should be focusing on so we can move ahead; sometimes that means standing still so we can see what needs to be “Let Go”. The solstices (which means sun stands still) teaches us about standing still at the Tropic of Capricorn.

The archetype of Capricorn arrives on this day giving balance and a solid foundation to work with for the coming month. That is why we begin the process of thinking about all of the wonderful things we will plan for the next year.

We work along mother Earth all year long; so on this magical day of Winter Solstice it is about each of us renewing, giving birth to our thoughts and ideas for our next “planting of life cycle”.

Winter Solstice is all about the light..
